The original light novels of The Apothecary Diaries, by Natsu Hyuuga (Hero Bunko), have 16 volumes in Japan. Volume 16 came out on May 30, 2025. There are two manga adaptations, and the Shogakukan version has 22 volumes. There is no official statement on which novel volumes each anime season covers (checked October 11, 2026).

Both adapt the same novels, but the art and pacing are different. The Square Enix version is published in English as “The Apothecary Diaries (Manga)”.
